Intermarché Illiers-Combray

In 2018 the Intermarché Illiers-Combray (France), launched its shop expansion project under the sign of quality. As a part of this project it was decided to create a bakery that would offer customers high-quality artisanal products. It was during the Europain 2018 trade fair that the head baker Frack KOZOHORSKY met the MERAND team. Although he already knew the company, he wanted to be sure that the MERAND machines would meet his expectations. Indeed, he needed machines with a very short lead time and which could handle large production volumes (6 500 – 8 000 breads per week).

“So we started the adventure with DIVA square hydraulic divider, Leader Page semi-automatic intermediate proofer and Tregor PPR vertical moulder. Today, we have two operators working simultaneously. This offers a considerable productivity gain as while one operator divides the dough pieces and charges them into the intermediate proofer, the other picks the shaped pieces to put them on the trays. In addition, the line is very versatile. Customers can now find a wide choice of baguettes de Tradition, special breads (whole wheat, cereal, etc.), French baguettes, brioches, buns, etc… And we are really happy with the quality of the end products.

For my team (6 bakers, 1 bakery & pastry chef and 1 apprentice) and myself, MERAND was a very good choice, we have never had any breakdowns or malfunction of the machines. In addition, MERAND was able to reassure us and helped us a lot during the purchase process, especially its after-sales service. Today we offer our customers quality bread all day long and we can easily diversify our product range”.
